Reasons to give to Virginia Wesleyan College
Virginia Wesleyan College is committed to providing students of diverse ages, religions, ethnic origins and backgrounds a rigorous liberal arts education that will prepare them to meet the challenges of life and career in a complex and rapidly changing world.
In accord with our United Methodist heritage, Virginia Wesleyan aspires to be a supportive community that is committed to social responsibility, ethical conduct, higher learning and religious freedom.
We seek to continue providing the very best Virginia Wesleyan experience; however, tuition alone does not cover the many costs of such a unique and life fulfilling college. In order to maintain our competitive standing and constantly improve, Virginia Wesleyan must rely on other sources of funding to meet its priorities:
- Increasing scholarship support. More than 96% percent of our undergraduate
students receive financial aid from endowments, the Annual
Fund and other sources. In 2007-2008, the College awarded
more than $10.5 million in scholarships to deserving and
talented students.
» Endowed Scholarships
» Annual Scholarships - Investing in more faculty resources and academic programs. Attracting and retaining the finest faculty improves teaching and elevates the College's reputation.
- Building new facilities and upgrading existing facilities for instruction, sports, recreation, and community service
- Building the endowment for student scholarships and faculty support
so that the College's future is more secure.
