Phillip came to Virginia Wesleyan in 2005 from Virginia Commonwealth University, where he was the Director of Development for the School of Business. In his nine years at VCU, he had also served as Assistant to the VP for Advancement and as Director of Corporate Relations. Prior to higher education, he raised funds for the National MS Society and the March of Dimes. Phillip graduated from Indiana University (English '89) and VCU (MBA '98). His interests include music, reading, travel and Spain. He and his wife, Melissa, have a spoiled rotten Portuguese Water Dog named after Etta James.
