Annual scholarships are provided on a yearly basis based on academic performance as well as financial need through support given to the Annual Fund for Academic Excellence.

Jaclyn Boyce, class of 2008, English, Newport News, Virginia
I came to VWC because of the strong athletic program, smaller campus, and scholarship opportunities. Receiving an Annually Funded Scholarship has deeply impacted my college experience. This scholarship enabled me to pursue a college degree by alleviating the financial burden I would have had to assume. I am fortunate to have been granted a college education as a result of the scholarship awarded to me.

Certainly, it would be more difficult for me to attend Virginia Wesleyan College without my scholarship. Being a scholarship recipient has offered me so many opportunities. I was able to spend a semester abroad in Puebla, Mexico as part of our exchange program with Madero University, go to Vietnam for a month with a research group of students and two professors and go to Pearlington, Mississippi with the alternative Spring Break program. I’ve been able to act in several stage productions here at VWC. Virginia Wesleyan has offered me a very distinct and amazing educational experience that I never would have had without my scholarship.
