Elizabeth Maxwell in Greece
Elizabeth Maxwell '10
Hometown: The Woodlands, Texas
Major: International
Studies and German
Activities: Wesleyan Activities Council (Director of Cultural and Educational programs) and Students Taking Action Now Darfur. "I can get people reflecting on the tragedies in Sudan. It's the closest thing to what I want to do with my life. I want to use my education in International Studies to improve the lives of others around the world."
Favorite Class: "I've loved all of my classes so far. I have not yet had an unexciting professor. One class that really sticks out in my mind as being an awesome class is World Religions 112 with Dr. Wansink. He made learning about religions interesting."

Freshman Year Reflection: "My high school graduating class had roughly 1,100 students (everything's bigger in Texas)! I wanted to go to a small school after I graduated so I could have a better learning community and have more of a chance to stand out. That was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I love walking through the Batten Center and being greeted by students and professors. Everyone developes a special bond with each other. After coming home for the summer, I met a professor from the University of Texas at a coffee shop. We talked about the differences between a small college and a huge university. He was surprised when he found out that I am friends with many of my professors and have been to some of their homes. I also had the amazing opportunity to travel to Greece and Turkey for a religion class."
What's Ahead: "In my sophomore year, I will be studying abroad in Berlin. The goal for my sophomore year is to visit as many European countries as I can."
