How to Apply

International Student Applications may be obtained from the Admissions Office or online. It is to the candidate's advantage to send the application and all pertinent credentials for admissions to the Dean of Admissions prior to June 1 for the fall semester and prior to November 1 for the spring semester. The Admissions Committee will consider your application as soon as it is complete, and the International Student Liaison will keep you informed about the status of your file. Please pay careful attention to the following matters:

Credentials required for International Students attending secondary schools

  • Application completed and signed.
  • Official transcripts from each secondary school sent directly to the College from the secondary school.
  • Official copy of TOEFL or SAT scores if not provided on the secondary school transcript.
  • Statement of English proficiency, if native language is not English.
  • Completed Financial Disclosure Form.

Credentials required for International Students attending a college or university

  • Application completed and signed.
  • Official transcripts from each college or university attended, sent directly from that institution to VWC.
  • Official copies of TOEFL scores.
  • Official copies of secondary school transcripts.
  • Statement of English proficiency.
  • Completed Financial Disclosure Form.

College Entrance Tests

For entering freshmen, Virginia Wesleyan requires either the TOEFL or SAT I scores, but we also recommend the SAT II Writing Test for placement purposes only. All international students whose native language is not English must submit TOEFL scores. The minimum TOEFL score for entrance to Virginia Wesleyan College is 550 written/213 computer based/80 internet based.
