Virginia Wesleyan Programs

Marlin Scholarship Fund(New! Returning Student Scholarship)

Virginia Wesleyan College will award funds to current students based on academic performance and extracurricular involvement. Applicants must be a current full-time, degree-seeking, day student enrolled at Virginia Wesleyan and completed a minimum of 24 credit hours by the end of the spring 2009 semester. Students must have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA at Virginia Wesleyan at the end of the fall 2008 semester. Awards will range from $1,000 to $5,000. Students must reapply annually. Virginia Wesleyan College Scholarship Funding for Freshmen

Students who apply for admission by March 13 are considered for scholarship funding based on their high school profile, leadership and community activities. NOTE: Students with a high school grade point average of 3.7 or higher and one of the following: 1190 (critical reading and math scores) or higher on SAT-I or 26 or above on ACT are encouraged to apply for admission before JANUARY 1.

Transfer Scholarship

Based on academic performance at previous college(s) attended. Amount varies. Contact your admissions counselor for additional information.

Choral Scholarship

Based on audition with Music Department. Amount varies. Contact your admissions counselor for additional information.

Christian Service Cancelable Loan

Awarded to Virginia United Methodist Conference church members who intend to pursue employment in full-time Christian service upon graduation. Requires letter of intent and recommendation. Cancelable loan covers up to one-half of tuition.

Minister's Sons, Daughters and Spouses Grant

Awarded to dependents of ministers who are members of the Virginia United Methodist Conference. Grant covers up to one-half of tuition.

Need-based Grants

Requires completion of FAFSA. Student must show demonstrated need and be enrolled full-time. Amount varies.
