State Programs

Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant (VTAG)

You must be a full-time (minimum of 12 credit hours per semester), degree-seeking student and be a domiciled resident of the Commonwealth of Virginia. If you are a dependent student (A Dependent student is under 24 years of age, not married and does not have a dependent of their own), one of your parents must be a domiciled resident of the Commonwealth of Virginia and must also complete your VTAG application. Deadline to apply for the academic year eligibility is JULY 31.

MILITARY DEPENDENT STUDENTS: If your parent/spouse meets all of the following criteria:

  • permanently stationed at a military facility in Virginia
  • you and your parent/spouse have a physical residence within Virginia
  • you will be a full-time, degree seeking student at VWC

You should complete the VTAG application. Return it to our Financial Aid Office along with a copy of your parent's/spouse's military orders, a copy of your military dependent identification card (front and back) and proof of Virginia residence.

Applications are available in a downloadable format from the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia or from the Virginia Wesleyan College Financial Aid Office.

College Scholarship Assistance Programs (CSAP)

Requires domiciliary residency and demonstrated need. Award ranges between $400 and $2,000 per year.
