Applying for Financial Aid

To be considered for financial aid, you need to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, also known as FAFSA. Financial aid is granted on an annual basis and your need is re-evaluated each year. First preference is given to applicants who meet the March 1 priority deadline.

FAFSA

The FAFSA can be completed anytime after January 1. You must complete a FAFSA or Renewal FAFSA for financial aid for each academic year you plan to attend college.

NEW STUDENTS

Access the web site at www.pin.ed.gov and request a PIN (personal identification number) for yourself and request a PIN for a parent, if you are a dependent student. (A Dependent student is under age 24, not married and does not have a dependent of their own). Dependent students AND a parent must sign the initial FAFSA and future Renewal FAFSAs for all updates, corrections or changes.

Access the web site at www.fafsa.ed.gov after January 1 and complete the FAFSA using your PIN and the PIN of your parent.

CONTINUING STUDENTS

Complete your Renewal FAFSA online as soon as possible after January 1. Don't forget to sign electronically with your PIN and your parent's PIN, if applicable.

The priority deadline for all FAFSA information is March 1.
