Scholarships

VWC awards merit-based scholarships to accepted students based on test scores and transcripts included in the application for admission. All students are automatically considered for these scholarships upon application for admission. If you have any question regarding the merit-based scholarships, please contact the Admissions Office.

Blue Marlin Scholarship Fund for Returning Students
Virginia Wesleyan College will award competitive one-year scholarships to current students based on academic performance, financial need and extracurricular involvement.  Applicants must be a current full-time, degree-seeking, day student enrolled at Virginia Wesleyan, have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours by the end of the spring semester, be U.S. citizens, and have a completed FAFSA on file by April 1. Students must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA at Virginia Wesleyan at the end of the fall semester. Awards will range from $500 to $2,000.

Virginia Wesleyan College Scholarship Funding for Freshmen (Merit Based)
Students who apply for admission by March 13 are considered for scholarship funding based on their high school profile, leadership and community activities. NOTE: Students with a high school grade point average of 3.7 or higher and one of the following: 1190 (critical reading and math scores) or higher on SAT-I or 26 or above on ACT are encouraged to apply for admission before JANUARY 1.

Transfer Scholarship
Based on academic performance at previous college(s) attended. Amount varies. Contact your admissions counselor for additional information.

Choral Scholarship
Based on audition with Music Department. Amount varies. Contact your admissions counselor for additional information.

Virginia Wesleyan College Dollars for United Methodist Scholars
Virginia Wesleyan College will match a local United Methodist Church's Scholarship of $1,000 offered to a member of your congregation enrolling as a first-time, full-time student for the upcoming academic year. The Wesleyan Dollars for the United Scholars partners the Church and College encourages United Methodist students to seek a quality education at Virginia Wesleyan by reducing tuition by $2,000.
