Current External Scholarships

Inquire about financial aid programs sponsored by your or your parents' employers. Also pursue financial aid scholarships on the web and through your church, public school system, local businesses, grocery stores, department stores, banks, credit unions, pharmaceutical companies, national brands and companies such as Tylenol, Pepsi-Cola, Kellogg's, Wal-Marts, K-Marts, etc. Check also with local civic groups and professional organizations. Scholarships are out there, you just have to take the time to look for them and then apply!

Virginia Sheriffs' Institute 2014 Scholarship Program

Description : Only majors in the criminal justice field will qualify for a scholarship. Two types of scholarships will be awarded, one to full-time students and one to part-time students.

A Place for Mom: Senior Care innovation Scholarship

Award: $1000
Description : The annual scholarship award is for five (5) students enrolled in an associate's degree, bachelor's degree or graduate level program in the fields of gerontology, long term care administration, social work, medicine, nursing, or sociology at an accredited 2-year college or 4-year university

Top Technology Scholarship

Organization: Direct TV Beats Cable
Deadline: April 30, 2014
Award: $2,500
Description : Write a 500+ word blog about your favorite technology and how important it is in your life.  
Eligibility: A student enrolled during the 2013-14 academic year on a full-time basis and in good academic standing at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university

Athnet Sports Recruiting Scholarship

Deadline: May 1st
Award: $1000
Description : $1000 scholarship available to full-time undergraduate students who played sports at the high school or college level
