About Our Program

Virginia Wesleyan College is a four-year, fully accredited, private liberal arts college with an outstanding national reputation. U.S. News & World Report and the Princeton Review have both rated Virginia Wesleyan College as one of the best Liberal Arts colleges in the country. Yet, you can attend Adult Studies Program courses for not much more than the cost of public colleges and less than the cost of many online offerings in the area.

The Adult Studies Program at Virginia Wesleyan has programs in:

You receive a high level of personal attention from our faculty, Adult Studies staff and academic advisers designed to assist you in the process of successfully reaching your educational goals. You are in classes with other adults - who, just like you, are trying to add another role to their already busy lives. And, with class sizes averaging fewer than 15, the program fosters close relationships among students and with professors.

Classes are also scheduled to accommodate the 9-to-5 workday with convenient evening and weekend classes, as well as some Modified Distance Learning classes (featuring fewer meetings and more of the course work done over the Internet).

Learning on the Fast Track

We offer the Fall and Spring semesters as traditional 14-week terms. We also have a 3-week winter session and a summer term consisting of 3, 5 ½ and 11-week sessions which allow you to take full credit courses in a shorter length of time.

A Supportive Environment

The faculty and staff of the Adult Studies Program are always ready to help, which assures you the understanding and assistance you need throughout your educational journey.

Convenient Location

We are located just off I-64 at Northampton Blvd. (exit 282) on the border between Norfolk and Virginia Beach, giving quick and easy access to our tranquil and secure campus. For help in finding your way to the college, take a look at the directions to the campus.
