Task Groups

The President’s Environmental Issues Council (PEIC) is divided into three sub-committees. These committees are the Policies and Procedures Committee chaired by Ms. McCarren Caputa; the Curriculum Committee and the Budget Committee.

Policies and Procedures        

This committee will take up issues such as whether to expand  the No-Smoking rule to 35 feet or more from entrances or whether to ban portable space heaters or other topics requiring policy statements.      

Curriculum

This committee will determine the extent of sustainability that will be incorporated into core curriculum classes. Of course this is subject to a faculty review.  Most successful programs start with curriculum.  

Budget

This committee will work on preparing a budget request for inclusion in future budget discussions. It is evident that without funds to pursue initiatives, the committee will not be as effective.
