VIRGINIA WESLEYAN COLLEGE (VWC) invites applications for the position of visiting instructor in the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies, beginning in fall, 2013. A master’s in Recreation, Leisure Studies, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field is required at the time the position begins. The selected candidate will hold the CTRS credential. The position is for one academic year with the possibility of renewal. The department is accredited through the Council on Accreditation of Parks, Recreation, Tourism and related Professions (COAPRT).
The selected candidate will contribute to the department’s core curriculum as well as to the Recreational Therapy track. Development of courses related to the individual’s areas of interest also will be encouraged including opportunities for Winter Session experimental and travel courses. The teaching load is four four-credit courses per semester. The salary is extremely competitive and an attractive benefits package is offered.
