Abstract
Based on three years of quantitative and qualitative data from the Winter Homeless Shelter held on the campus of Virginia Wesleyan College, this applied sociology project develops a guide manual to enable other colleges and universities to host their own homeless shelters. Operational experience, pre and post volunteer survey results, and guest feedback are used to explain what a shelter looks like on a college campus, how to host a shelter on a college campus, and why to host a shelter on a college campus.
