Are you looking for something to really set your college years apart … an opportunity that will prepare you for your career or for graduate school in a way that goes beyond what the traditional college experience offers? Virginia Wesleyan's Undergraduate Research program may be just what you are looking for.
Virginia Wesleyan's Undergraduate Research program is your opportunity to make an in-depth study of a subject near to your heart and even publish your research with our Virginia Wesleyan faculty. Many students get research grants to help finance their pursuit and they go on location for deeper investigation of the topic. Each year a number of our students present their findings at gatherings such as the Undergraduate Research Symposium, The Virginia Academy of Sciences Annual Meeting and other such events.
In recent years, Virginia Wesleyan has actively encouraged students to undertake the demanding task of producing original research under the guidance of a faculty mentor. The college offers grants to support such research and gives students opportunities to present their work at conferences on campus and beyond.
After completing an undergraduate research project at Virginia Wesleyan, you are more than prepared for advanced graduate school study and you’ll possess research skills that will serve you well throughout your career and life.
