Steps for Recruiting in the Information Technology Industry.
Dr. Ehsan Salek|
|Department||Management, Business and Economics|
Many of today's college students are specializing in the information technology (IT) field with the high hopes of finding jobs in what has become a very lucrative and vast industry. The remarkable growth in the industry could possibly be attributed to the Millennium Bug scare or companies' needs to stay within the cutting edge of their competitors. Although there have been many college graduates with information technology degrees, human resource managers are now faced with the daunting task of finding qualified candidates. Managers, along with the human resource department must, prepare job descriptions, locate candidates, consider outsourcing, keep recruiting costs low and have an orientation and training program. Additionally, they must also challenge themselves to retain employees once they have been hired.
