Student Research Projects

Task ambiguity, task performance, and efficacy: Relationships in a scholastic setting during independent tasks.

Course PSY 315

I will investigate how ambiguity (i.e., clear vs. ambiguous task directions) affects efficacy and performance. After deciding on the topic I began reading articles related to my topic and determined my hypothesis. This also made me realize several different variables I would need to control during my experiment. This helped me begin considering how I would need to conduct the experiment and record data. I expect to find that increases in ambiguity will cause a decrease in efficacy and performance. Once the data has been gathered, I will also investigate whether or not gender differences exist.
