Course Principles of Management

The college and professional level of coaching has to be one of the most difficult stages of coaching, because by this time athletes pretty much feel like they have accomplished enough and know basically all they need to know to succeed. The issue arises when the coaches want the athletes to follow their lead and respect their wishes. For example, how does Phil Jackson (coach of 2008-2009 NBA championship team) motivate Kobe Bryant (last years MVP of the NBA) to obey his commands without any controversy? My research will explain what types of methods coaches use to encourage the athletes believe in the ability to lead them to the ultimate goal of becoming Champions.
