Building a Cluster Computer

Student Tom Fletcher
Faculty Mentor(s) Dr. Zizhong Wang
Department Computer Science
Course CS 489: Research in the Natural or Mathematical Sciences

In today's modern computers, parallel processing is becoming increasingly popular. Many new computers today come with either a dual or quad core processor which leaves older single core processors out of date. However, these older single core processors can be connected with newer multi core processors to act as one large CPU with multiple cores known as a cluster computer. This cluster computer will be able to execute large processes more efficiently than most modern computers.
