Course PSY 480: Original Research Project

The impact of volunteering with the homeless on college students’ life satisfaction was assessed. Participants completed the Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS) before and after volunteering at a homeless shelter held on campus. Changes in pre-post SWLS scores will be discussed with regard to volunteering in general and volunteering with the homeless specifically, as it affects one’s subjective perception of their own life situation.
