Academic Support Services

Virginia Wesleyan College provides students with many academic resources to assist students in their academic career at VWC. What follows below is just a few of the resources to which students have access.

Career Services

The Career Services Center at Virginia Wesleyan College is devoted to helping students decide on a college major and career, gain experience while a student, search for employment and/or apply to graduate school.

Hofheimer Library

Students at Virginia Wesleyan College find a large variety of services and assistance available at Hofheimer Library. Library staff provide personal research instruction for individuals, and group instruction for research assignments when requested by instructors. Help from a Librarian is available evenings and weekends, in person, through email or by phone; Students will also find a computer lab and many study spaces and rooms for their use. The library’s book and journal collection and extensive selection of online resources provide excellent information sources for students. Students are encouraged to come in and ask for assistance and information.

Learning & Writing Centers

The Learning Center coordinates tutorial, placement and academic support services at Virginia Wesleyan College. Academic support services include transitional advising during summer orientation and Winter Session, academic counseling for provisional students and those on academic probation, and disability services. Our mission is to give students the resources they need to become successful independent learners while maintaining an open channel of communication with faculty.
