The program is rooted in the liberal arts and emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach that teaches students critical thinking in a variety of fields, including international business, international policy, and cultural studies. The flexible academic program offers students the opportunity to customize their education to suit their own interests. Classroom experience is supplemented by both long-term and shortterm study abroad, as well as internship opportunities, bridging classroom knowledge with real-life international experiences.

The major consists of a minimum of 54 semester hours, of which at least 18 must be at the 300 or 400 level.
