We are wonderfully situated amid the rich historical fabric of Virginia, including nearby national treasures from the colonial period such as Jamestown and Williamsburg, and numerous important and fascinating Civil War sites and battlefields.
Historic Virginia serves as a living classroom that challenges Virginia Wesleyan's students to explore what some historians call "the pastness of the past." Our classes regularly visit these sites, and history majors often work at local historical sites or in local archives. Our innovative history internship program offers unparalleled opportunities for students to earn college credits while putting their skills to use as archivists, interpreters, and guides at historical sites throughout the region.
