This session will cover topics such as maintaining a daily planner, prioritizing responsibilities, creating to-do lists, and winning the battle against procrastination.

Writing Arguments/Argument Mapping workshop

with Dr. Sara Sewell
It may surprise students to learn that many professors evaluate papers based primarily on the quality of their arguments -- not perfect grammar. This workshop will teach you how to organize and develop a paper for argument. It shows students a technique known as Argument Mapping, which many researchers and educators believe is the foundation of critical thinking in college. It will also show students how to understand and be more aware of arguments in the materials they read for their classes. Students in all disciplines will benefit from this hands-on workshop.

Oct 18 Motivation workshop

with Dr. Keith Moore

Pick a spot on campus. It can be any spot: a tree, a building, or a crack in the sidewalk. The next time you pass this spot, I want you to be able to say, “There is no place I would rather be than right here, right now!” Being in college is a wonderful thing. For four years, your full-time job is to learn and explore. It is what you make it. The trick is all in your attitude. This session will explore the concept of motivation as well as provide ways that students can feel inspired to do their best at everything college has to offer.
