The Internship/Study Abroad Experience
During their junior or senior year, students complete an internship or collaborative project with a local organization or business that is related to the student's professional, vocational, or personal interests; or study abroad to experience another culture or increase their fluency in another language.
Students are encouraged to complete the requirements for their major during their Junior year. In addition, students can go back a take any course outside of the suggested sequence of PORTfolio courses, as their schedule permits. If a student is missing a PORTfolio course due to a prior scheduling conflict, make the PORTfolio Director aware of the problem and arrangements can be made to accomodate the student to make-up for any missing coursework with an independent study or alternative arrangement.
