Welcome to Johnston International Hall! This hall is more than just a residence hall —it's a part of the world! Johnston International Hall is truly a piece of the world and students are encouraged to be a part of it. In the modern world, understanding different cultures is imperative for cross-culture communication and understanding global political, economic and social climates. This cultural understanding is the foundation of Johnston International Hall.
Within the Johnston International Hall community, a graduate intern trained in international education along with two resident assistants take a great interest in participating in and creating an atmosphere that promotes cultural understanding. Furthermore, each member of Johnston International Hall plans and implements an activity to foster a sense of community and educate others on a particular culture. Past activities include international dinners, movies and speakers. The Office of International and Intercultural Programs (OIP) also sponsors activities that foster this environment, such as flag painting and trips to restaurants.
