Living & Learning Communities Application

Attention Incoming Freshman

There is still time to take advantage of Wesleyan's two Living & Learning Communities. The application deadline has been extended to June 2, 2008.

Application and Housing Procedures

  1. Upon acceptance to Virginia Wesleyan, complete and return the Housing Preference Form contained in the acceptance packet along with the required reservation fee to the Admissions Office.
  2. Complete the online application for Living & Learning Communities below.
  3. For PORTfolio Program Applicants Only: You must also complete and return the online application for admission to the PORTfolio Program.
  4. Freshmen will be notified of acceptance to a community and their housing/roommate assignment at New Student Orientation in July.
  5. Students not selected for a community will be assigned to a freshman hall by Residence Life and notified at New Student Orientation.

Goal Statement:Describe your interest in participating in a Living & Learning Community. Your statement should include your interest in the topic, what you hope to gain from the experience, and what you hope to contribute to the community.

Living & Learning Community Agreement

I understand that I will be sharing a double room (connected to another room by a bathroom) in Village II with another member of the community. No single rooms are available. I also understand that while my roommate will be of the same gender, I will be living on a co-ed hall.

I understand that I am expected to be an active participant in activities as established in the syllabi by professors and staff working with my community.

I understand that I may be reassigned to a room in another residence hall if I do not meet community expectations or follow rules of conduct.
