Carly says: “Honors and Scholars has helped me grow in more ways than one. My honors courses have challenged me to think outside the box and research topics that truly interest me, while expanding my knowledge in numerous subjects such as Education, Psychology, and Literature. I was able to take my Honors and Scholars experience overseas for my semester abroad in Rome, Italy, where I took an honors course in Victorian literature. Throughout this course, I studied Victorian literature alongside Italian speaking students which opened my eyes to a new dimension of literature that I had not previously experienced. Honors and Scholars has also allowed me to learn about important topics in more depth that will help me in my future career as a high school teacher. It has made all the difference in my experience at VWC, and I am so thankful for the opportunities it has given me.”
