Surviving in Sudan, Surviving in America

A rare chance to meet and talk with eight college-aged members of the media-dubbed "Lost Boys of Sudan." Orphaned and driven from their villages at an early age due to civil war and religious persecution, these young men survived a 2,000-mile journey on foot across Africa and nine years in refugee camps before coming to America to pursue life, liberty, and an education. Share perspectives on the value of freedom and the power of the human spirit to survive, as well as traditional Sudanese drum-playing and dance. Co-sponsored with the Office of Community Service.
