Deborah Carr teaches Directing Church Choirs in the Church Music Certificate program, and is also part of the College's Performing Arts Faculty for organ instruction. She earned degrees from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music and Westminster Choir College, and is Director of Worship and Music Ministries at Hidenwood Presbyterian Church where she oversees a comprehensive program of vocal and handbell choirs. In addition to her work at the college and church, she is conductor and artistic director of the auditioned women's ensemble, Bellissima. Her compositions include a major work on the life of Jacob, The Blessing, and the children's Christmas musical, The Bethlehem Turtle. Her works for organ and solo instrument have been premiered during the Virginia Arts Festival.
