Sandra Billy is director of the Center for Sacred Music and teaches Sacred Music History, Choral Literature and Hymnology, as well as the Business of Music. She earned degrees from Old Dominion University and LaSalle University, as well as the Church Music Certificate from Virginia Wesleyan College and the Music Specialist Certificate from the Berklee College of Music. Having served in church music ministry for more than 28 years as music director and organist, her articles on choir management and participatory worship have been published in numerous journals, and her work in developing new music for worship has led to the development of the Virginia Wesleyan College Anthem Series with Hinshaw Publishers, the Virginia Wesleyan College Children's Anthem Series with Choristers Guild, and the Music from American Colleges and Universities series with MorningStar Publishers. In addition to her work with the Center, she is also Artistic Director of the Virginia Wesleyan College Concert Series.
