Colombia: Democracy and Drug Trafficking

Colombia is well known for its association with drug trafficking. Unfortunately, the illegal shipment of drugs from and through Colombia has had clear negative effects on democracy. This paper will explore problems associated with the drug trade, including corruption, financial flows, and violence; and will also seek to identify and measure the effects of these problems on Colombia’s democracy.
