This study describes the development of the Rigidity Inventory (RI), designed to measure cognitive inflexibility. 33 college undergraduates completed the RI, in addition to several other measures assessing the same and related constructs. Results suggest the RI has adequate test-retest and split-half reliability, as well as convergent and divergent construct validity. The measure’s specific psychometric properties and implications for its use will be discussed.
