Assistant to the Vice President for Advancement
Virginia Wesleyan College is accepting applications for the position of Assistant to the Vice President for Advancement. The position is a full-time, 12 month staff position. This position will provide essential administrative and event planning support to the Vice President for Advancement, major gift officers and the division. The position assists the Vice President with correspondence and communication with College Trustees and donors, coordinates meetings, processes and manages all department expenses and daily mail, and supervises work study students for the department. The position works closely with the Assistant to the President of the College in the implementation of all activities involving Trustees, donors and key constituent groups. The position is responsible for coordinating special events for the Center for Advancement, including but not limited to the student/donor events, Heritage Society events, Athletic Hall of Fame, and Parents’ Roundtable.
Qualified candidates must have a minimum of five years of office experience, preferably in a higher education setting. Event coordination experience is also preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Qualified candidates will also have strong written and oral communication skills; strong interpersonal and organizational skills; strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
